This is older Sorrow armor, the one I prefer but he doesn't really get it or this mask till later. He's a lot more willing to get all crazy with emotion-fueled magic. He's a Sytheran, in simple words they are people who have a depressing god-like soul in their mind, tempting them to eat souls to feed on their happiness. That's simple words, anyway. The big eyes are part of said god-like thing which are called Chisols.
